Subscription analytics FAQ
Which subscription events does ActivationPal track?
From RevenueCat: initial purchase, renewal, cancellation, uncancellation, expiration, billing issue, one-time purchase, product change, subscription paused, subscription extended, refund reversed and transfer. Superwall delivers the same list except subscription extended, refund reversed and transfer. Setup guides: RevenueCat webhook and Superwall webhook.
How is trial conversion measured?
A trial cohort is the trials started in the selected date range. A trial is converted when its first paid renewal arrives, churned when it is cancelled or expires, and pending until then. Trial churn is churned trials divided by all trial starts. A converted trial counts as new subscription revenue, not as a renewal.
How are refunds counted?
Refund rate is refunded paid transactions divided by paid transactions created in the selected range, so a later refund updates the period of the original purchase. Gross revenue is what buyers paid. Net revenue is what you receive after refunds, VAT and store fees.
Does it cover in-app purchases that are not subscriptions?
Yes. One-time and lifetime purchases are reported as One-time revenue, next to new subscriptions and renewals.
Can I use RevenueCat and Superwall in the same app?
Each app has one revenue source. If Superwall shows your paywalls and RevenueCat handles purchases, connect the RevenueCat webhook only, so no purchase is counted twice.
How does revenue connect to what users did in the app?
Pass the user id your revenue provider uses to the ActivationPal SDK. Purchases then land on that user's timeline, and revenue splits by country. SDK guides: Quickstart, Native Android, Flutter, React Native.
Does it work for web or SaaS subscriptions?
No. ActivationPal measures mobile apps through its Native Swift, Native Android, Flutter and React Native / Expo SDKs, and revenue arrives only through RevenueCat or Superwall webhooks.
How do I get started?
Create a free account, add an app, and follow the setup guide. The first 10,000 events are free and no card is required. Plans are on the pricing page.
